RESALE DISCLOSURE *
Please remember that when selling your house, you need to provide the buyer with a resale disclosure package. This is required by the Commonwealth of Virginia, and it provides the buyer with a new set of documents, financial statements, the disclosure statement and other information pertinent to the Association. When a contract is signed for the sale, to order a package, you or your agent may go directly to
www.homewisedocs.com or you may click on the link. The package price is $200, or $250 if a rush is required. Virginia law requires the seller of a unit within a homeowner's association to provide the buyer with this package.
If your mailbox needs to be repaired or replaced, the Glenwood Office keeps PVC boxes in stock. The purchase price is $98.00 (our cost). In addition, single mailbox posts are available for $75. Checks can be made out to Glenwood Community Association. We do not accept cash or credit cards.
SCOOP THE POOP
Not only is allowing your pet to poop without cleaning up disgusting, but it is also a violation of the following code:
- Sec. 5-16. Allowing dogs to urinate or defecate on public or private property.
- It shall be unlawful for any owner or person in control of a dog to:
- Knowingly or willfully allow his/her dog to urinate or defecate on the private property of other persons without their consent or that of the authorized agent of the one having control of the premises.
- Knowingly or willfully allow his/her dog to urinate or defecate on public property, except that defecation by a dog on public property shall not constitute a violation of this section if the owner of the dog immediately removes the material defected and disposes of it in a safe and sanitary manner.
ACC guidelines require that all Holiday decorations and lights be removed "14 days after the holiday". This includes all holidays and seasonal decorations.
Before erecting a shed in your yard, please remember to submit an ACC application. The sheds must meet the requirements of the ACC Guidelines, which includes, but is not limited to, having the roof shingled to match the house, and having the siding either painted of sided to match the house. Do not forget to include your shed when replacing your roof. If the shingles are changed on the roof of the house, they must also be changed on the roof of the shed.
If you are renting out your home, you may want to consider a change to your lease. All landlords should note in their lease that any violation of the Association documents constitutes a violation of the lease. This will help you regulate your tenants. In addition, you should specifically name the tenants in the lease.
Please check out the Adopt-A-Waterway flyer on the City of Virginia Beach website. We are actively recruiting groups to adopt waterways within Virginia Beach. This is the newest program within the Adopt-A-Programs and we would like to expand the number of waterways adopted.
The Adopt-A-Program Brochure and Agreement are now posted online at our website www.vbgov.com/vbclean. Look for the 'Related Docs' yellow box on the right hand side of the page. The Brochure has the guidelines plus the Do's and Don'ts of the program. The Agreement can be filled out to adopt a specific location. Once filled out, return to the Clean Community office.
Good News!! Adopt-A-Program groups can now go online and fill out their report card whenever they complete a cleanup (see the link above – look for the Adopt-A-Program link). You might want to bookmark it to make it easier to bring up and fill out.
Many residents are putting new roofs on their houses, and although some are staying with the same color, the shingles being used are the Architectural or dimensional shingles. Please note that if you have a shed, the roof on your shed must also be changes. If you are changing the color of your shingles, an application must be submitted in advance.
